Symbol of Lotus

The Lotus flower is a symbol of enlightenment, purity, the source of knowledge and wealth.  It is said that mankind, with ones “roots in the mud” can achieve enlightenment like the beautiful blossoming of lotus flower in muddy water.
The crown chakra, in a developed soul also looks like a lotus flower blossom.

The White Lotus is depicted in many pictures of different Holy Deities such as Budda Qaun Yin, Lakshmi Goddess and Arya Achala.
There is a saying in Buddhism, ‘although this world we live in might look muddy to us, we have to let beautiful flowers blossom out of it. It is times when we encounter pains, sorrows, and loneliness in life that we have to remember that it is only out of mud, do lotus bloom beautifully…’
